HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE

  1. Give a Lightning Talk on your research

Each lightning talk is limited to one slide and three minutes. Please use the slide template provided and email your slide to idia2@gmu.edu by September 27th. We will also print your slide and include it in a booklet distributed at the symposium. For virtual participants, the booklet will be available online from the website.

  1. Attend the Networking sessions to connect to potential collaborators

Each registered attendee will receive a unique seat number and a booklet during check-in. The seating arrangement and faculty bios with research interests in the booklet will make it easier to locate other participants who they want to interact with.

  1. Propose a Birds-of-a-feather session

Birds-of-a-Feather (BoF) sessions are informal gatherings of persons interested in a particular topic.  Attendees seeking potential collaborators for an upcoming RFP from a funding agency, or forming a working group of Mason faculty with shared research interests propose a BoF session to the organizers. You can even propose a session on the day of the symposium!
