Ran Ji’s research focuses on stochastic optimization, distributionally robust optimization, chance-constrained programming and uncertainty quantification, data-driven decision making. Specifically, some of Ji’s research goals include tackling the optimization problems under uncertainty via mathematical programming. His application areas of interest include financial risk modeling, portfolio optimization, supply chain risk analytics, inventory and production planning, statistical learning and data mining.
